Yummy goodness

We've had some yummy food in the last few days! Michael was very sweet and got me a strawberry cheesecake on my actual birthday and we had a little family celebration.
Katelyn helped me blow out the candles and Noah watched her. :)

It was so nice out the other night that we went ahead and got the patio furniture out and cleaned up so that we could eat dinner outside...in the middle of March! Yeah!!!!

Michael grilled pork chops and I made a baked cauliflower dish, asparagus and focaccia bread (I didn't make that). Such a yummy dinner.

Last night we had "fancy appetizers for dinner night". (Katelyn thought this was really fun.) I made salad with grilled chicken (that we had leftover), avacados, strawberries and walnuts -delicious!. We had crusty bread with brie (Katelyn had string cheese), pears and meatballs (Katelyn thought it was VERY fun to eat meat off a toothpick!).

I can tell I'm feeling all better because my desire to cook is back! Just in time for all the yummy fruits and veggies... Oh, and Katelyn discovered this week that she likes cauliflower, spinach and asparagus. Just another reason to cook lots of veggies and make sure that she tries them all.

March in Kentucky

We woke up to this last Monday...five inches of snow.
We haven't had snow all winter and this is how we started March!

This is just a sweet picture! Everyone says to sleep when the baby sleeps...

We're using cloth diapers for Noah and we think he looks like a little sumo wrestler. :)

I love this little face. He's such a good baby!!!

And these two faces together...even better.

Tomorrow is my birthday (yep, I'm 29...thanks for asking). So Michael invited some friends over this weekend for a little party. I'm really blessed!!!

We were hanging out watching daddy wash the dishes. We're so helpful.

Remember the first picture? This was one week later. It's supposed to be in the mid-seventies all week. Gotta love March in Kentucky. It's time to start getting the garden going. I'm going to do some weeding and hopefully get some lettuce, cabbage and broccoli planted this week!

I LOVE SPRING!!!

Our new normal

It's hard to believe, but Noah is just about a month old already. I can't believe four weeks ago we were going into the hospital to start labor/delivery.

We are figuring out what our new normal is...but seriously, look at this face. He's such a sweet boy!!!

We spend a lot of time just hanging out together at home. Michael and Katelyn were watching a little movie together yesterday.

I love my little boy.

And having two kiddos and watching as they interact with each other is the best thing ever. Katelyn is adjusting so well and I'm so proud of the big girl she is. She gets herself dressed and brushes her teeth in the morning. She helps get us stuff we need when we're doing things with the baby. She even zipped up her own coat yesterday! I can't wait until she starts to teach Noah how to do things.

Katelyn and I were reading the paper together this morning. :)

My mom has been here all month and she's leaving tomorrow morning. We're not quite sure what we're going to do without Grammy. It has been SO helpful to have her here. Good thing she and Papa will be back in a month!

More cuteness

Can you tell we have a new addition in the house? I'm a blogging maniac these days!

Papa, this picture is especially for you. Please note the polar bear shirt. And the polar bear is fishing...even better. :)

Michael's been bringing Noah upstairs when we tuck Katelyn in and she really wants him to stay and have a slumber party with her. We told her she'll have to wait for him to get bigger for that, but I see some slumber party fun in their future.

Katelyn really is the best big sister ever. And Noah is only three weeks old but already he just stares at her and seems very content and engaged when she is near. I'm pretty sure he loves his sister already.

This might be my new favorite picture. I think it will be framed and put up in our house sometime soon!

Katelyn drew a picure of a park with her window markers this morning. She was very proud of her masterpiece. If you look closely you can see a slide, swings and monkey bars. She loves the park!

Siblings

While Noah was playing on his play mat, Katelyn layed down on the floor to play with him.

This just makes my heart SO happy! I pray they always love playing with each other.

Noah's eyes were glued on Katelyn. He was watching everything she was doing. She's so sweet to him. She just wants to be near him.

Katelyn brought a couple of her toys over to share with her brother. Noah knocked the little snow globe over with his hand and Katelyn said, "Good job, Noah!" Somehow I don't think she'll always be so happy when her brother gets into her stuff.

A day of firsts

Today Noah had his first bath!

He wasn't really loving it.

But he was happy afterwards when he was wrapped up all warm and cozy in his crocodile towel.

This was before his bath. I had to take this picture because Noah and Daddy were wearing the same outfit. Too cute.

Noah also got to lay on his play mat today. He loves this thing. He is super alert while he's looking up at the rainforest.

Daddy and Noah playing together. Noah was reaching out and swatting the hanging toys. It was a big day. Now the baby's passed out. :)
