February Recap

We've had a full month!  So I thought I'd do a little recap.

We've been plugging away at school but this is something Katelyn did all on her own one morning.  She wants to hang it on the door to her room.  "The science girl is in here..."  She loves all things science.

Katelyn and Noah have had lots of time together this winter and they are the best of friends.  Katelyn is so kind and patient and Noah just goes along with all of the silly things Katelyn tells him to do.  They're perfect for each other.

When you have a sister you get a pink "cape" put on you and you don't complain about it.

Here's Noah "doing school."  He had to put the colored pom poms in the egg carton where the corresponding colors are.  He thought it was pretty fun.

Does it get any sweeter than this?

Noah turned 2 earlier this month!  Happy birthday, Noah!  I had big plans for an elaborate cake...um, that didn't happen.  But we did have a fun birthday celebration with family and Noah was more than happy to eat this cake.

Playing with cousin Charlie and the new presents.

 Such a big boy!

 Yep, I like my cake.

 Such a little stinker.

We went to Great Wolf Lodge for a couple of nights for Noah's actual birthday.  It was the perfect getaway and we all had lots of fun together.

The kids are sharing a big ice cream on Noah's birthday.

 Lots of playing.

 Katelyn loved the water slide.

We went bowling.  (The kids quickly lost interest in this.)

This is the perfect winter spot for a family with little kids.  We'll be back I'm sure.

On our way back to Lexington we spent the morning at Newport Aquarium.

The alligator was huge!!  Katelyn, not so much.

Last stop before home was a German restaurant called Hofbrahaus.  We filled our bellies and the kids were asleep literally two blocks from the restaurant. (I fell asleep down the road a bit.)  Good thing Michael was driving.

We found out a couple of weeks ago that we're having a little girl.  We're super excited and can't believe that it won't be long and we'll be doing all this stuff with THREE kids!  Whew....I'm tired already.

Here's to spring coming quickly!!

Happy Chinese New Year

In September Katelyn started going to a Chinese dance class once a week.  She has really loved it.  They had their first performance today celebrating Chinese New Year (which started yesterday).

She wasn't nervous at all.  She was very excited to get up on stage and perform in front of an audience.  (Surprise, surprise)

She got to wear her first makeup today.  :)

She really did do a good job.

The last number of the show was all of the performers doing a fashion show.  It was pretty amazing.  They had unique costumes for most of the girls.  It was highlighting three different people groups in northeast China.  It was really beautiful.

She's growing up way too fast.

Here's Katelyn with a couple of the other girls that are in her class.  She's in the youngest class and it was fun to watch the older girls perform and see what she might be doing in the future.

Gung Hoy Fat Choy!  (Happy New Year!)
