I love tights!

Is there anything cuter than a little girl in tights? Especially this little girl with her squeezable cheeks and rolly legs. :) Why can't those attributes be cute after childhood? Before we went to China, I painted this chair for Katelyn. It has her name on it. It was up in her bedroom and Katelyn has recently shown interest in sitting in it. So while grandpa was here, he brought it downstairs for her. I think she likes the idea of sitting more than she actually likes sitting. Up and down, up and down. No sitting still for this girl.

I'm interupting movie time and the girl is just about ready for a nap.

Here she is dancing to the music in the movie. :) Speaking of dancing. I made up a new song for the pretty princess. It goes "Pretty little princess spin in circles. Pretty, pretty princess twirl, twirl, twirl..." When I sing it, Katelyn will dance in a circle and twirl. Oh my gosh it's cute!

Kateybug's sleeping right now so I got to do my nails and drink some tea. Oh, I love Sunday afternoons!

17 months

Oh, by the way, Katelyn is 17 months old now. Where is the time going? I can't believe how much she's grown and learned in just 7 months. Amazing!!!

Winter's come early!

Winter is my very least favorite time of year. I don't mind it being chilly, but really cold is not cool. :) I think by the look on Katelyn's face, she feels the same way. Really, she just doesn't like getting all bundled up because it limits mobility. But she sure does look cute!
It seems to take forever to get out the door now...what happened to grab the diaper bag and go? Now we need five layers. Geesh. And of course this year, winter has arrived in full force and EARLY. Yuck! It's going to be a long few months.

Here's another picture of her majesty curled up with grandpa.

Play dough and cuteness

Katelyn and I busted out the play dough last night. She wasn't quite sure what to do with it. Of course she tried to eat it...I only turned my head for a minute, I promise and all of a sudden there was a wad of purple in her mouth. Thank God this stuff is non-toxic. But she quickly got the hang of it. We listened to a kid's sing a long CD and rocked out to the ABC song while playing with our dough. It was a party at our house this Saturday night!

I just had to take this picture because she looked so cute today. This was her church outfit...I love tights. It's gotten COLD here...so she'll be sporting tights from now on.

Katelyn is a very good mommy to her baby. She gives her hugs and kisses and puts her night night.

This kid is SO STINKING SWEET. Such a joy!

Yeah, Pa Pa's coming back tomorrow!!!!

Pa Pa's here...sort of.

Before I go any further, I want you to look at Katelyn's dinner. Broccoli, wax beans and veggie burger. Then her "dessert" was a few peach slices. Broccoli is her FAVORITE food. She will inhale it any time I put it in front of her. She ate all of the broccoli, all of the wax beans, half of this veggie burger and her peach slices...and she had raisins and a couple of graham crackers earlier for snack. For breakfast she ate some egg, some waffle and half of a banana, had some cheerios at the doctor's office and had tomatoes, broccoli and baked chicken for lunch. Eating is not her problem...and she eats quite the variety of food...healthy food. The healthier it is the more she eats. It's WILD. I hope she's always like this. I love fruits and vegetables so it makes shopping easy! It's just as easy to cut up grapes, grape tomatoes and grab a piece of deli meat from the fridge as it is to run through the drive thru...
Anyway, I just wanted to give everyone proof of what she's eating...I'm not forcing her, I swear.
My dad got here on Wednesday night and Katelyn was excited to see him from moment one. She loves Pa Pa (she even called him Pa Pa herself). He wasn't here five minutes before the little one had him reading books to her.

Or maybe she was reading him the book.

I don't think he minded.

Now dad's up in Michigan for a few days with our family up there, but he'll be back Monday.
It won't be soon enough. Katelyn needs Pa Pa time. Grammy, Katelyn misses you and CAN'T WAIT until Christmas. She'll have to get a bunch of special Grammy time to make up for this trip.

Feeding the ducks

It was such a nice day out we just couldn't sit inside all day...so we went to the park for a little picnic and to feed the ducks. Katelyn loves ducks.
Isn't she lovely? This girl would stay outside all the time if we'd let her.

She chased the ducks around with a stick.

Laughing and clapping in the middle of bird wonderland.

I had to make sure these aggressive little beasts didn't think her chubby fingers were a snack. She has NO fear.

The FUNNIEST thing about the whole outing was that I'd give Katelyn a piece of bread and she wouldn't throw it to the birds...she'd just stick it in her own mouth. She looked at me like I was crazy for asking her to part with food. Katelyn doesn't share food.

We had a little picnic of our own. McDonalds hamburger and apples. Yummy! Just another lovely fall day in the Bluegrass.

A lazy Saturday morning

We all have colds, so it was a lazy morning and we were slow to get moving. Katelyn is starting to feel better, so she was at least in a good mood. She loves playing peek a boo.
She likes to go to the mailbox. Just wait until she has to pay the bills. :)

Could someone please buy this kid a hair brush for Christmas so I can have mine back. Every morning she runs off with it. Little thief.

Okay Grammy and Aunt Pam...her hair is down. She won't always leave the clip in it and it gets in her face and she likes to get any food she's eating in it so it's easier to put it up in a pony tail or pig tails, but it is getting long. It might be time for a little trim. I've been putting it off...she won't like it.
