Happy Chinese New Year

In September Katelyn started going to a Chinese dance class once a week.  She has really loved it.  They had their first performance today celebrating Chinese New Year (which started yesterday).

She wasn't nervous at all.  She was very excited to get up on stage and perform in front of an audience.  (Surprise, surprise)

She got to wear her first makeup today.  :)

She really did do a good job.

The last number of the show was all of the performers doing a fashion show.  It was pretty amazing.  They had unique costumes for most of the girls.  It was highlighting three different people groups in northeast China.  It was really beautiful.

She's growing up way too fast.

Here's Katelyn with a couple of the other girls that are in her class.  She's in the youngest class and it was fun to watch the older girls perform and see what she might be doing in the future.

Gung Hoy Fat Choy!  (Happy New Year!)

Please tell me that it ain't so....how can Katelyn Grace be that "grown up" already! I'm proud of you and Michael for having her learn her heritage. That's so important. She looks absolutely beautiful.

Thanks, Aunt DeDe. I can't believe how grown up she is either. She's really interested in learning about China and she's proud of where she's from. It's great for us too because our whole family is exposed to cultural events and things we wouldn't be if Katelyn weren't in our family.
