Being silly

We do silliness well around here. We're just a big, goofy bunch.

I love the look on Noah's face. "Um, what have I gotten myself into?" Sorry, son, you can't pick the crazy you're born into.

If you can't beat em, join em.

And the cutest little brother around award goes to....

I love them...a lot.

especially when they are being really silly.

I love my family!

Happy kids

I'm very thankful our kids are generally happy kids (mind you, they have their moments).

Katelyn keeps telling people everywhere we go, "My baby is gorgeous. Do you want to see him?" She is so proud of her brother and doesn't miss a chance to show him off. I'd be embarassed if it wasn't so dang cute.

I asked the pediatrician when babies start to smile because Michael swore Noah was smiling (at three weeks) and she said typically at 2-4 months. Well, Noah is definitely smiling already at six weeks and we have lots of pictures to prove it. It's the cutest thing ever.

He loves her.

And he LOVES ceiling fans. They don't even have to be on to fascinate him.

Look at me in my Bumbo chair. I have to prop his head up a bit, but he really liked sitting in this thing. I like that we're getting to use all the baby gear.

Every once in a while he even makes a little sound when he's smiling. It's the littlest giggle. :)

I love this girl. She has been the hugest helper. I'm so stinking proud of her. (And so thankful...I often need the extra hands.)

Look at me!

Katelyn was singing Itsy Bitsy Spider for Noah. I'm glad they can entertain each other!

Catch ya later...we've gotta go play some more.

Mentally prepare yourself

Caution...if you don't want to be overwhelmed by the desire to hop in your car/on a plane and come to our house to hug and kiss some kids..DO NOT LOOK AT THESE PICTURES!!! Consider yourselves warned.

First off...Happy St. Patrick's Day. We aren't Irish. We don't really care about the holiday...but Noah looks cute in his St. Paddy's Day sleeper that Grammy got him.

Noah earlier today, konked out in his swing.

There's a new playground at a big park near our house and it was BEAUTIFUL today so we packed a picnic and headed out. Food always tastes better when you eat it outside. I think I grew up on peanutbutter, jelly and sand sandwiches at the beach. Katelyn just loves it when our whole family gets to do stuff together. She's always excited at the end of the week because it means Michael will be home during the day on the weekend.

Yep...he's cute.

Noah had a rough day at the park. Ummm, is this the cutest picture you've ever seen???

The playground is so new they don't have the swings hung yet, but Katelyn and Michael had fun together on all the other stuff.

Noah's smiling at us. Just in the last week he has really begun to recognize us and react. It's really sweet.

Of course we had to go to Wendy's for a frosty after spending HOURS at the park. What a fun, fun day. I love that spring is here and we are able to spend the day outside. We love family days!!! I think there are many more fun days in our immediate future!

Yummy goodness

We've had some yummy food in the last few days! Michael was very sweet and got me a strawberry cheesecake on my actual birthday and we had a little family celebration.
Katelyn helped me blow out the candles and Noah watched her. :)

It was so nice out the other night that we went ahead and got the patio furniture out and cleaned up so that we could eat dinner outside...in the middle of March! Yeah!!!!

Michael grilled pork chops and I made a baked cauliflower dish, asparagus and focaccia bread (I didn't make that). Such a yummy dinner.

Last night we had "fancy appetizers for dinner night". (Katelyn thought this was really fun.) I made salad with grilled chicken (that we had leftover), avacados, strawberries and walnuts -delicious!. We had crusty bread with brie (Katelyn had string cheese), pears and meatballs (Katelyn thought it was VERY fun to eat meat off a toothpick!).

I can tell I'm feeling all better because my desire to cook is back! Just in time for all the yummy fruits and veggies... Oh, and Katelyn discovered this week that she likes cauliflower, spinach and asparagus. Just another reason to cook lots of veggies and make sure that she tries them all.

March in Kentucky

We woke up to this last Monday...five inches of snow.
We haven't had snow all winter and this is how we started March!

This is just a sweet picture! Everyone says to sleep when the baby sleeps...

We're using cloth diapers for Noah and we think he looks like a little sumo wrestler. :)

I love this little face. He's such a good baby!!!

And these two faces together...even better.

Tomorrow is my birthday (yep, I'm 29...thanks for asking). So Michael invited some friends over this weekend for a little party. I'm really blessed!!!

We were hanging out watching daddy wash the dishes. We're so helpful.

Remember the first picture? This was one week later. It's supposed to be in the mid-seventies all week. Gotta love March in Kentucky. It's time to start getting the garden going. I'm going to do some weeding and hopefully get some lettuce, cabbage and broccoli planted this week!

I LOVE SPRING!!!

Our new normal

It's hard to believe, but Noah is just about a month old already. I can't believe four weeks ago we were going into the hospital to start labor/delivery.

We are figuring out what our new normal is...but seriously, look at this face. He's such a sweet boy!!!

We spend a lot of time just hanging out together at home. Michael and Katelyn were watching a little movie together yesterday.

I love my little boy.

And having two kiddos and watching as they interact with each other is the best thing ever. Katelyn is adjusting so well and I'm so proud of the big girl she is. She gets herself dressed and brushes her teeth in the morning. She helps get us stuff we need when we're doing things with the baby. She even zipped up her own coat yesterday! I can't wait until she starts to teach Noah how to do things.

Katelyn and I were reading the paper together this morning. :)

My mom has been here all month and she's leaving tomorrow morning. We're not quite sure what we're going to do without Grammy. It has been SO helpful to have her here. Good thing she and Papa will be back in a month!
